The Presentation Tips

When I was blog hopped last few weeks, I've found out this interesting blog. He's a lecturer at KLMU (if I'm not mistaken). There's one article that caught my eyes and I asked the permission from him to put it on my blog.

So here it is, the presentation tips from Mr.Sunny. (I copy paste directly from his blog. For the full story, do click here.

1.Reading

Never , never but never read off your slide. I can read better and faster than you. This is not a public reading session. You are there to present and explain.

2. Face your audience

You are communicating with your audience, NOT the screen, therefore FACE your audience. Maintain eye contacts.

3. Voice.

When you face the screen, your voice will not be clear. Maintain a reasonable voulme so that the audience can listen comfortably without having to strain their ears. Vary your voice tone so that you would not sound monotonous.

Your voice should also show enthusiasm and it must be lively.

4.Slides

Select your information wisely. You DO NOT have to show your whole report . Pick and select the information wisely. Do not spend half your presentation time on your introduction. What is most important would be your Findings. Present and highlight the main interesting points.

Keepyour slides to MAIN POINTS only ! DO NOT make your slides so wordy. Just read the points, face the audience and do your explaination and/or elaboration confidently.

Use colours --but wisely. Too much of something will have an adverse effect .

5. Conclusion and recommendation

These two can be combined if you plan your facts.

6. BE PREPARED

Last but not least, PLAN YOUR PRESENTATION. This mornining I could even see one of the students still preparing his slides while the presentation was going on. Needless to say , he scored the lowest. This would solve all your readings , blabberings, stammerings, mutterings and most of all IT WOULD KEEP MY TEMPER AT BAY !

Seronok pulak rasenya menulis dalam bentuk point. Sangat straight to the point. (Qawi pernah cakap yang one of my favourite word adalah 'sangat'). *Hello Qawi, dimanakah gambar percutian kita ke Sabah. Kakak mu ini bagai menanti buah tak gugur nak tengok gambar-gambar itu.*

Ok.Tinggalkan cerita Qawi dan gambar bercuti di Sabah.

Minggu lepas, hari Jumaat yang penuh barakah. Abah, ma dan drivernya (aku lah tu drivernya), menuju ke KL.Oh. Sungguh lama tak buat aktiviti kunjung mengunjung KL ni. Kali terakhir pada bulan lepas rasanya. (Kami pernah tau tiap-tiap minggu tau naik KL.hehe)

Sampai dalam pukul 9 malam. Tiada langsung kesesakan lalu lintas. Suka.Sangat.

Hari Sabtu, tiada aktiviti selaen daripada makan-makan dan mengunjungi Lowyat. Kalau pergi Kl, memang menjadi kegemaran Ateh untuk suruh aku belikan barang-barang PC dia di Lowyat. Padehal Ateh dah memang duduk KL. Lagi mau tunggu aku jugak. Tapi takde hal lah sebab aku bleh pas title driver kat orang laen. Kalo tak, sorrylah. hehe....


Lepas pergi Lowyat, masuk Time Square utk survey cita dkt wayang. Sadly tak de cerita best pon. Pergi plak MBO Ampang. Tengok cerita Push. Tak menarik pon cerita ni. Dah macam cite Heroes pulak dibuatnya. Korang tak payah tengok. Pergi beli DVD lagi baik. Lepas tu terus balik rumah.




Hari Ahad adalah hari mari mengunjungi kenduri kahwin. Kenduri pertama adalah kenduri Asmah. Rakan baik yang kenal semasa di Matrikulasi Pulau Pinang. Berseri-seri muka ko, babe! Sangat gembira untuk ko. Masakan sedap, suasana nyaman sebab buat dalam dewan + kat meja bulat untuk 10 orang tue, hanya aku berdua jek yang ada.haha

Balik dari kenduri, lepak dulu kat rumah Ateh. Sesudah Asar, kembali bersiap untuk ke Shah Alam. Kali ni ke kenduri Pijad. Rakan sepermainan di Sekolah Tun Fatimah. Eh. Rakan belajar bersama lah. Rakan sepermainan pulak.


Tapi yang bestnya, its no just a wedding ceremony tapi its turned out menjadi gathering untuk batch 9600. Meriah macam cik kiah lah jugak masa tue. Excited sebab dapat jumpa ngan kengkawan sekolah. Ada tue dah 9 tahun ok tak jumpa. As usual, lepas MC berpantun-pantun menunjukkan majlis tamat, kiteorang pon ape lagi, photo shoot di atas pelamin lah kan.




"Guys buat muka kena denda sebab tak pakai pin tudung!"

"Guys buat muka kena denda sebab lambat pergi senaman pagi!"

We laughed out loudly malam tue. I bet sesiapa yang pernah skolah asrama penuh, boleh imagine suasana pada malam tue.. Like Puan Adillah had it too.

Around pukul 11 baru bergerak balik ke Ampang.

To Asmah & Pijad. Congratulations!May the marriage last forever!

To incik F, thanks for the day.

Who is SHE?

1. Her name is Warsih.

2. She's working as a maid to Angah's family.

3. She is a lazy maid.

4. She likes to do a job that require less energy.

5. She has a husband and a kid back at Indonesia.

6. But.....

7. She fall in love with the Bangladesh who lives next door to Angah's house.

8. She sent a love letter to that Bangla.

9. That Bangla gave back the letter to Abang Ngah.

10. Yes. It was a love letter from Warsih to that Bangla.

11. She is a liar too.

12. There was a guy who came to the house Angah is working and when Angah asked who's that gut, the maid claimed that it was a condo's guard.

13. But....

14. When Angah asked the guard, they said none of them went to Angah's house.

15. She likes to steal the kid's belonging.

16. She has been sent back to her agent.

17. As a conclusion, she can't be trusted at all.

18. End of story.

p/s: Not all maid have problems but MOST of them did. Just beware.

The Wind Down Day..

Last week was a very hectic week for us at Danau. The Nordin Group opening ceremony really turned us into a 'busy-bee'. Everybody was struggling to make sure that the materials needed for the ceremony will be delivered on time. Alhamdulillah, the ceremony went successfully..

So yesterday, as for reward (and as a appreciation to the internship students at Danau), Dr.Zaharim treated us with bowling and pizza!

The game was happening! (Puan, wish you could join us yesterday... ) We were divided into four groups, A B C and D. I was in group C with Razif, Thony and Hajar. We've played 3 games. Well, everybody was talented.Full with skills!! The spinners, the strikers and not to forget - the cheerleader! hehe. The champion of the game went to.... drum roll please... Group B!



Next, we attacked pizza hut!
Before the day end, the internships need to make a speech. To Shidah, Razif, Qre & Azi, thanks for choosing Danau. Hope the experiences that u've gained with Danau will help u in your future career.

Thanks to Dr.Zaharim for the bowling & the pizza. You're the coolest boss ever...


p/s: Me and Shidah watched Angel & Demons after that. Awesome movie! Will review about the movie later. Keep reading life in mono ya!

Selamat Hari Guru, cikgu!

Sempena hari guru nie, aku nk cerita tentang guru-guru yang meninggalkan impak maksima masa sekolah dulu.

Sekolah Rendah, (yang ni masa aku bersekolah di SRK Tunku Abdul Rahman Gemas. Darjah 5& 6 jek kat sini).

Cikgu Aminah: Cikgu bahasa melayu yang garang. Tapi Cikgu Aminah punya tulisan kaligrafi dia sangat cantik! Masa darjah lima dapat hadiah buku cerita dari dia sebab aku lah yang paling banyak membaca dalm kelas tue.haha

Cikgu Esah: Cikgu matematik. Sanggup jalan kaki pergi rumah cikgu nie sebab nak tuisyen Maths dengan dia! Cuma 5 orang jek murid tuisyen dia masa tue.

Cikgu Hashim: Tak mengajar aku pon tapi dialah coach untuk volleyball team sekolah aku. Dialah yang membuatkan aku berjaya wakil Negeri Sembilan masa tue. Happy siot.... padahal baru darjah enam masa tue! Dapat pergi MSSM rasa macam dapat pergi London (London?haha)
Fakta yang aku sorok selama ni: Aku merupakan tunas jaya negeri sembilan pada tahun 1996. Masa tue dah masuk STF. Pengetua siap panggil suruh bagi speech masa perhimpunan. Malu sungguh masa tue!hhuhuhu



Sekolah Menengah:
Oh, sekolah tercinta adalah Sekolah Tun Fatimah, Jobor Bahru.......



Form One:


Cikgu Faridah (Cikgu Maths) - Cikgu Kelas untuk 1 Setia. Cikgu ni baik, lemah lembut. Tapi setahun lepas tue dia pindah.

Cikgu Jasmy (Cikgu Sejarah) - Ye. Cikgu ni paling aku ingat sebab sape yang dapat markah teruk dalam subjek sejarah, kena denda sama ada kene berdiri sepanjang masa dia ngajar/berdiri atas kerusi/ diri depan kelas/ berdiri luar kelas. Scary! Aku pernah kena denda tapi tak ingat denda yang mana satu.

Form Two:


Pn.Bijan - Sebab dia cikgu kelas kiteorang.hehe


Form Three:
Ustazah Zarinah - Nie lah ustazah yang paling aku ingat dan paling aku sayanggggggggggg sangat. Kalo exam Sains & Agama jatuh pada hari yang sama, aku rela hafal nota agama dari baca nota sains. Kalo result ujian, sape-sape yang dapat C, kena pilih sama ada join detention class or lari satu tenis court.huhu

Cikgu Jasmy lagi - Sebab dia jugak yang jadik coach untuk volleyball team. Masa nie, for the 1st time ever, STF won the 1st place! Before this semuanya sekolah Cina. huhu. I was chosen to represent JB untuk MSSN tapi cikgu tak bagi sebab nk PMR...huhu.sedey.


Form Four:


Form Four adalah nightmare! For the first time kiteorang tak dipecahkan mengikut set untuk subject english & maths. Menjadikan subject add maths adalah subject yang paling menakutkan. Aku tak pernah lulus subject nie. Kalo lulus pon cukup-cukup makan jek. huhu So aku tak ingat sangat nama-nama cikgu masa nie. Honeymoon year lah konon.haha. Kiteorang pernah kena denda satu sekolah sebab buat dorm party. Denda dia ape tau, berdiri sebelah kaki kat tenis court dari pagi sampai tengah hari kalo tak salah aku. Naseb skolah semua pompuan, so no harm lah. haha



Form Five:

Aku & Pak Yem masa Form Five dinner

Pak Yem! - Pak yem adalah cikgu maths & add maths bagi set 6. Masa form 4, add maths tak pernah lulus kan, haruslah masuk set lasttttt sekali mase naik form five. Tapi aku bersyukur sangat-sangat sebab dapat Pak Yem. Dari markah zero masa form 4, aku boleh score utk SPM lepas dibasuh oleh pak yem. Teaching method dia adalah latih tubi. Waktu prep takde keje laen dah, buat add maths jek. Sampaikan cikgu biologi kiteorg pengsan sebab dalam kelas dia, kiteorang dok buat add maths. So sorry Mrs.Chong! Pak yem punye denda kalo tak siap homework dia adelah berdiri di luar kelas. Malu sey sebab nanti junior nampak.huhu

Pn.Lim - Cikgu Kimia yang jarang marah. Err, sebab class kimia adalah sebelom masa rehat maka classmate aku suke cepatkan jam kat dalam kelas tue. Maka selalulah kiteorg kuar rehat awal.hehe

Pn. Chong - Cikgu Biologi yang pengsan dalam kelas kiteorang sbb stress tgk kiteorg asek buat add maths jek!

Pn. Nik - Cikgu BM yang baek hati.

Ustazah Kamisah - Ustazah yang ajar Pendidikan Islam.

Pn. Nakimah - Cikgu sejarah yang garang.Tapi sebab kegaranagan dialah aku dapat A2 dalam subjek sejarah.

En.Zul - Cikgu Fizik. After add maths, aku suke fizik. Tapi sedey fizik tak score sangat.huhu


Lain-lain cikgu:
Pn. Syarifah Asmak - Cikgu HEM kiteorang. Garang yang tak boleh celen tapi hati baik maaa.



Sir Azharuddin - Sir untuk school's band kiteorang. Kerana dialah yang berjaya menaikkan nama band STF. Sampai ke Indonedia, Australia, Bangkok Sir azhar bawak nama STF band. Sangat rindu band! huhu

Emm rasenye tuelah antara nama-nama cikgu yang mampu aku ingat. Maaflah, mungkin ada nama yang tak tersenarai tapi percayalah bahawa setiap jasa cikgu-cikgu yang pernah mengajar aku hanya ALLAH yang dapat membalasnya.

Aku hanya mampu berdoa agar mereka ini diberi keberkatan dan kesenangan hidup di dunia dan di akhirat.

Alhamdulillah, everything went well.

( Even there was a lassttttttt minute problem but we did it well, I think )
